Purpose & Scope

Classlytics is a survey platform used by school leadership to collect feedback. It is designed for limited, purpose‑specific data collection and controlled access by the designated admin.

How Classlytics Supports FERPA‑Aligned Use

  • Admin‑only access: Only approved admin accounts can create surveys, view results, and export data.
  • Student access by code: Students do not need accounts to respond, which minimizes the amount of personal data collected.
  • Optional anonymity: Surveys can be anonymous or require names when identity is needed for a specific purpose.
  • Controlled exports: Responses are exported by the admin for district analysis and reporting.
  • Data retention controls: Surveys support expiration windows to limit collection timeframes.

District Responsibilities

  • Define what data is appropriate to collect under your local FERPA policies and consent requirements.
  • Ensure only authorized staff receive access to admin credentials.
  • Establish a data retention and deletion schedule for exported reports.
Note: Compliance depends on your district’s policies and configuration. If needed, consult your legal counsel before deployment.
